Ascendly is seeking part-time instructors to teach elementary after-school STEM enrichment classes using LEGO bricks, Snap Circuits, and other electrical components.
* Must work well with children and have a mature, professional attitude
*Knowledge of engineering concepts is not necessary, but a plus
*Experience with groups of kids and/or teaching is also a plus
*Lesson plans and equipment are provided
*One-on-one training is provided based on individual need
*Background checks are required. Background check fees are paid by Ascendly.
The typical class lasts an hour and requires approximately 15 minutes for setup and clean-up. A typical course runs eight sessions, meeting once a week. Instructors can teach at schools close to where they live or work. Most classes start right after school, usually around 3-4 pm, with a few in the morning before school starts. We provide classes in public and private schools in Arlington County, Alexandria City, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Loudon County, and Prince William County in Virginia, as well as Montgomery County in Maryland, Washington D.C. and York County, Pennsylvania. Own transportation is required. Reliability and punctuality are critical.
