Jr. Structural Engineering with LEGO® Brick Series

Become a junior builder and make amazing LEGO® creations! You will learn core structural engineering concepts while building cool creations like towers, bridges and castles. There are no instruction booklets in this class – you will use your imagination to build these structures while learning the engineering behind them. So while your buildings will look cool on the outside, they will be rock-solid on the inside, ready to withstand an onslaught from earthquakes, boulders, and even hurricanes.

LEGO® Designs: Creative Engineering with Blueprints, Sketches and Communication (JSEDraw) – in-person only

Design and build amazing LEGO creations! Think like an engineer while learning to read simplified blueprints (very different than LEGO instructions) and even make your own blueprints.  Share your great ideas with fellow engineers by telling the story behind each LEGO creation you make. Test your creations and learn to build like an engineering master. (K-6th grade)

LEGO® Structures: Jr. Structural Engineering (JSEStructures) – in-person only

Become a junior builder and make amazing LEGO creations! You will learn core structural engineering concepts while building cool creations like towers and castles. Jr. Structural Engineering with LEGO® Bricks (JSE) – online only

This class combines the best of the LEGO Designs and the LEGO Structures classes to provide a dynamic online class.  Some of the lessons in the original classes are not conducive to the online environment.

Wooden Structures and Contraptions Engineering (WoodSCE)in-person only

Do you love to build and are you looking for new directions for your construction expertise? Create crazy structures like towers and winding ball contraptions with thousands of wooden planks and hone your structural engineering skills. This class is full of open-ended projects where you can use your imagination and learn all about engineering. You’ll be blown away by the huge structures you’re able to create. (K-6th grade)

LEGO® Engineering Challenges: Build, Tilt, and Bend with LEGO® Bricks (Rise1)

Beyond junior LEGO®, get ready for the big LEGO® challenges.  Bring your hard-core creative juices and move beyond the square world of traditional LEGO® bricks. This isn’t about structures, nor LEGO® bricks, it’s about a way of thinking  Each lesson teaches critical thinking, brainstorming, planning, testing, and refining – but then move beyond a square world as you tilt, turn, roll, and twist your creations.

Motor Mayhem: Mechanical and Electrical Motors for Vehicles (Rise 4)in-person only

Bust a move and crash some cars. Come explore the ways of motors – from simple air blasts to over-clocked electric motors.  You will make helicopters, and airplanes.   Explore rockets and make your own stomp rocket assembly.  Wrap up with electric motors and your very own electric car.  Almost all of these will crash at least once, so be ready for extreme mayhem. (3rd-6th grade)

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Brick Series


Explore your creativity by building more of the most famous buildings in the world.  Pick out the best parts of each structure and create them using LEGO® bricks.  Learn to use pieces in unconventional ways while building great masterpieces. Meet the challenges presented each week while placing your own creative stamp on them. This isn’t about following LEGO® instruction booklets, it’s about building awesome creations and sharing them with friends.

These classes are not sequential. Each class covers a different grouping of buildings from around the globe. They encourage kids to take a second look at these structures, noticing the thought and attention that went into the details of the construction.

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Bricks: Pyramids, Robots, and More (CC1)

Learn to use LEGO® pieces in unconventional ways while building great masterpieces.  Construct buildings shaped like animals, robots and pyramids. Work together to build the Great Wall of China. Create an upside-down house.  Meet the challenges presented each week while placing your own creative stamp on them.

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Bricks: Eiffel Tower, Castles, and More (CC2)

Explore your creativity by building more of the most famous buildings in the world.  Pick out the best parts of each structure and create them using LEGO® bricks.   Construct the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Jefferson Arch and the Hollywood Sign. Bring the Neuschwanstein Castle and the Eiffel Tower to life. Meet the challenges presented each week while placing your own creative stamp on them.

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Bricks: Taj Majal, White House, Big Ben, and More (CC3)

Continue your exploration of famous structures around the world.  This class will visit the Taj Mahal in Agra, learning about how to construct domes and curved walls with LEGO® bricks.  Drop in on the White House in Washington D.C., stop over and see Big Ben in London.  Pay a visit to the Colosseum in Rome.  Pick out the best parts of each structure and create them using LEGO® bricks.  This isn’t about following LEGO® instruction booklets, it’s about building awesome creations and sharing them with friends.

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Bricks: Louvre, Famous Houses, and More (CC4)

Discover more fabulous structures around the world.  This class will explore treasures here in the US as well as all over the globe.  Construct the Statue of Liberty. Craft the Awakening Sculpture.  Design your own version of Falling Water.  Fashion the pyramid of the Louvre.  The challenges in this class lead to inspirational building. Meet the challenges presented each week with LEGO® bricks while placing your own creative stamp on them.

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Bricks: London Eye, Atomium, Golden Gate Bridge, and More (CC6)

Discover more of the world’s most interesting structures. Build the London Eye, design your own version of the Meenakshi Amman Temple, find out what’s in the Atomium. Join us in our journey around the world exploring some of the most creative constructions in existence.

Creative Engineering with LEGO® Bricks: Washington Monument, Millau Bridge, St. Basil’s Cathedral and More(CC7) 

Continue your journey around the world. Imagine the spray off of  the Trevi Fountain in Italy, feel the enormity of Stone Hedge, admire the beauty of Santorini with it’s white buildings and bright blue roof tops, and examine the details of St. Basil’s Cathedral.

Let’s create the images of our favorite holidays.  Will you do Christmas in July? July 4th? St. Patricks day? Easter? Thanksgiving?  What are the things that make your holidays special?  Pull out your creativity and let’s create them with LEGO bricks.

LEGO® Skills and Creativity Series: Oceans (LSCS10)

Electrical Engineering Series

Energy Wizards: Zap, Pow, Lights On! (JEE) – in-person only

Our fun, hands-on, projects range from playing with light-up Squishy Circuits (using electrified play dough!) to creating pop-up & light-up greeting cards.  Come unlock the mysteries of electricity with the Energy Wizards. We will learn how to safely harness the power of electricity and make some AMAZING creations. If you like to take stuff apart, aspire to invent, or are just curious about modern electronics, join us and become an Energy Wizard! (1st-2nd grades)

Electrical Inventions: Sr. Electrical Engineering (SEE) – in-person only

Come join us and create great electrical inventions after school. Each class session, students are introduced to a new electrical engineering concept or create a new electricity-based creation. Fun, hands-on, projects ranging from lighting up a 7- segment display or making an electromagnet to creating your own electric burglar alarm. These are not toys or kits – they are real projects for real electrical engineers. If you like to strip wire, stack batteries, invent robots, or are just curious about modern electronics, then channel that creative energy with Electrical Inventions. (3rd-6th grade)
